The Pokémon League in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is accessed after completing all eight Gym challenges and the Victory Road path. Unlike previous generations, the Elite Four in Paldea can be challenged in any order, which gives you more strategic flexibility. Preparing for the Elite Four
Before entering the Pokémon League, make sure your team is at least Level 58-62. The Elite Four’s Pokémon range from Level 58 to 62, and Champion Geeta’s team reaches Level 62-66. Stock up on Hyper Potions, Full Restores, Revives, and status-healing items. It’s also wise to have at least one Pokémon that can Terastallize for a clutch type change.
Elite Four Member 1: Rika (Ground-type)
Rika specializes in Ground-type Pokémon — though her ace is a surprising Clodsire with Water Absorb. Her team includes Whiscash (Level 57), Camerupt (Level 57), Donphan (Level 57), Clodsire (Level 58), and Dugtrio (Level 57).
Best counters: Water, Ice, and Grass-types. A strong Ludicolo with Giga Drain resists all of Rika’s attacks while dealing super effective damage. Abomasnow with Snow Warning and Wood Hammer handles everyone except Camerupt. Gyarados with Ice Fang and Aqua Tail sweeps most of her team.
Elite Four Member 2: Poppy (Steel-type)
Poppy is the youngest Elite Four member and commands Steel-type Pokémon. Her team features Bronzong (Level 58), Magnezone (Level 58), Corviknight (Level 58), Garganacl (Level 59), and her ace Kingambit (Level 59) with Supreme Overlord.
Best counters: Fire, Fighting, and Ground-types. Skeledirge with Torch Song is exceptional here — it hits everything except Bronzong for super effective damage. Lucario with Aura Sphere and Close Combat handles Magnezone and Kingambit. Garchomp with Earthquake sweeps Magnezone and Corviknight. Elite Four Member 3: Larry (Normal/Flying-type)
Larry pulls double duty as a Gym Leader and Elite Four member. His Elite Four team is Normal-type, featuring Komon-O (Level 59), Staraptor (Level 59), Oinkologne (Level 59), Tauros (Level 60), and his ace Flamigo (Level 60).
Best counters: Fighting-types are your best bet here. Koraidon with Collision Course OHKOs everything. Pawmot with Close Combat and Double Shock handles the whole team. Annihilape with Rage Fist and Drain Punch can sweep while healing. Watch out for Flamigo’s Scrappy Ability — it can hit Fighting-types with Flying moves.
Elite Four Member 4: Hassel (Dragon-type)
Hassel commands Dragon-type Pokémon with a mix of secondary typings. His team includes Noivern (Level 60), Dragalge (Level 60), Haxorus (Level 60), Baxcalibur (Level 61), and his ace Dragapult (Level 61).

Champion Geeta
Champion Geeta leads the Pokémon League with a diverse team covering multiple types. Her team consists of Espathra (Level 61, Psychic), Gogoat (Level 61, Grass), Kingambit (Level 62, Dark/Steel), Toxapex (Level 62, Poison/Water), Veluza (Level 62, Water/Psychic), and her ace Glimmora (Level 62, Rock/Poison).
Best counters: Build a team that can pivot between threats. Meowscarada with Flower Trick handles Espathra, Gogoat, and Glimmora. Gholdengo handles Toxapex and Kingambit. Garchomp with Earthquake takes out Toxapex. Watch for Glimmora’s Toxic Debris — it sets Toxic Spikes when hit by physical moves, so use special attackers against it.
